Juna Akhara – An Ancient Heritage of Sanatan Dharma
Juna Akhara is the largest and most ancient institution of Sanatan Dharma, established by Adi Shankaracharya Jagatguru himself (an incarnation of Lord Shiva) for the protection of Dharma. It continues to fulfill this purpose through various means to this day.
Some of the saints of Juna Akhara, in order to accomplish the objectives of the Akhara in this modern era with the support of modernization, formed the Uma-Maheshwar Seva Trust under the leadership of Shri Mahant Kothari Manohar Puri Ji of Juna Akhara, Haridwar, named after Uma-Maheshwar, the universally revered embodiment of divine masculine and feminine power. The trust has been continuously engaged for years in the protection and propagation of Dharma.
