Prasad Seva at Shri Kundi Soteshwar Mahadev Temple
The Shri Kundisoteshwar Mahadev Temple in Haridwar is a sacred abode of Lord Shiva, situated in an ancient and serene setting. Here, devotees offer prayers and Prasad (sacred offering) to seek Lord Shiva's grace, relief from suffering, and spiritual peace. This site is held in high regard, particularly by devotees seeking concentration, tranquility, and a deep experience of devotion to Lord Shiva.
Mythological Legend / Belief
According to Sanatan traditions, when Lord Shiva passed through this region with his divine wedding procession (Baraat) to marry Goddess Parvati, the procession halted briefly at this very sacred spot. Folklore recounts that Lord Shiva, along with his Ganas (celestial attendants) and the wedding party, prepared and consumed Bhang (a traditional cannabis-based concoction) here, grinding it using a Kundi-Sota (mortar and pestle). It is due to this mythological episode that the place is known as "Kundisoteshwar Mahadev."
